New Direction for the Estuary Program
Dan Berman, Program Director of the Estuary Program since 2004, has resigned from the organization effective March 19. Dan and his family chose to return to northern California where he will oversee a fisheries watershed monitoring program. The Estuary Program wishes Dan and his family well in their new endeavor.
Former Program Director Michael Multari will serve as director in an interim capacity while a permanent replacement is found.
Michael led the Estuary Program from 2000 to 2004, during which time he helped get the program's Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan approved, beginning the implementation phase. He recently retured from Cal Poly, where he worked on the campus master plan, sustainability issues and taught within the City and Regional Planning Department.
Michael can be reached at mmultari@mbnep.org or at the program offices Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
The search is currently underway for a Program Director.
“It has been an honor and a pleasure to work with so many wonderful and interesting people who are dedicated to helping protect and restore the Morro Bay Estuary. I am proud of the progress we have made since I started working here, and confident that with our talented staff and so many committed partners, both the Program and the Estuary will continue to thrive in the coming years.
I greatly appreciate the friendship and support that I have received in this work from so many people,”
