Learn: Use our website to find out about our different monitoring efforts. Use the information on time commitment, level of effort, etc. to determine which monitoring efforts are right for you.
Contact: Call (772-3834) or email program staff to find out which volunteer efforts need help.
Meet: Sit down with program staff to learn about the program and complete the necessary paperwork.
Learn: Discuss the health and safety protocols for safety in the field and the program procedures for scheduling and communicating. Receive copies of the monitoring protocols.
Train: Shadow an experienced volunteer to learn about the monitoring procedures and sites. Follow-up with program staff to ensure training is complete.
Commit: If you decide that you are interested in continuing, you make a commitment to the program for the minimum time period, which differs for each monitoring effort.
Monitor: Once you are comfortable, you will be teamed with another volunteer to start monitoring.
Please note: Unfortunately, due to safety concerns, the program does not work with volunteers under the age of 18.
