Invasive European sea lavender may look delicate, but it can quickly outcompete native salt marsh plant species like sea heath and jaumea (seen in this photo) and degrade salt marsh habitat. Statice, a flower that is commonly used in floral arrangements, often comes from non-native sea lavender species.
