Each eelgrass plant represents the acreage mapped for its respective year. The acreage from 2022 is still under analysis and was not included in this figure. Note that the mapping method was not the same for each year. While these different methods could introduce slight differences in the acreages, they represent only a small fraction of the acreage changes from year to year. Regardless of the mapping method, the trend of rapidly expanding eelgrass acreage is clear.
